Commander (retired) Horace Victor Silk, (28 November, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in London, the son of Dr. J. F. W. Silk.[1]
Silk was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1911.[2]
Silk was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1919.[3]
In February 1926, Silk was appointed in command of H.M.S. Herald upon joining, to be in charge of surveying.[4]
Silk was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1934.[5]
World War II
Appointed to the Hydrographic Department on 7 September, 1939.[6]
