Captain Anthony Kingscote, R.N. (17 October, 1846 – 14 May, 1891) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Kingscote appears to have joined Britannia in March, 1860, which does not appear to be a regular, full-sized intake term.

Kingscote was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 5 August, 1868.

Kingscote was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 July, 1879.

Kingscote submitted an essay to the Royal United Service Institution's competition of 1885 exploring the impact of the introduction on the ram, mine and torpedo on various aspects of naval training and operations. His work received honourable mention, but not the Gold Medal.[1]

Kingscote was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1887.

Retired as physically unfit with an organic heart disease on 3 April, 1891, Kingscote would die in mid-May.
