Lieutenant-Commander Andrew Yule Catto, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (20 September, 1869 – 20 January, 1939) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Catto was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 16 June, 1896.

Catto was appointed in command of the tender Gleaner on 12 March, 1910. He left on 5 October, 1911 when appointed to Excellent as Inspector of Diving.

Catto was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 1 April, 1912.

Catto was promoted to the rank of Acting Lieutenant on 24 July, 1915.

Catto was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 17 September, 1916.

On 4 January, 1921, Catto was appointed in command of the trawler Henry Lancaster, but this was cancelled.

Catto was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 16 September, 1924 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) the following day.
