Lieutenant-Commander Kenneth Gordon Ramsey, R.N. (18 July, 1890 – 10 November, 1923) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Inspector[?]-in-Chief W. B. Ramsay, R.N. was born in Kingstown. Although his service record states that he was part of the January, 1906 term at Britannia, the date makes it more likely that he was part of this term at Royal Naval College, Osborne.
Ramsey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1912.
Ramsey was appointed in command of the destroyer Torch on 18 December, 1918.[1]
Ramsey was appointed in command of the destroyer Rosalind on 10 November, 1920.[2]
Ramsey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1920.
Ramsey's last sea-going appointment was a brief one in command of Sepoy in 1923 as she transferred from Third Destroyer Flotilla to Seventh Destroyer Flotilla, or perhaps when those two formations exchanged roles or identities. In September he was appointed to Columbine, additional, for command of a group of Seventh Destroyer Flotilla T.B.Ds.. Ramsey would die of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Queensferry Road, Edinburgh on 10 November.
