H.M.S. Comet (1910)
Pendant Number: H.25 (1914-1916)[1]
Builder: Fairfield[2]
Launched: 23 Jun, 1910[3]
Completed: Jun, 1911[4]
Collision: 6 Aug, 1918[5]
Fate: Exploded under tow

H.M.S. Comet was one of twenty destroyers of the Acorn class.

Service

Comet served in the Second Destroyer Flotilla under her second captain, Commander Kerrison Kiddle, until being paid off on 4 June, 1913.[6]

Comet exploded while being towed following a collision. This caused many to think she was torpedoed, but no submarines claimed doing so.
