Construction
Resolution was launched in the afternoon of 28 May, 1892. The christening ceremony was performed by Mrs. William H. White, wife of the Director of Naval Construction. In attendance were Sir C. M. Palmer, Admiral Richard D. King, and local dignitaries.[8]

As of 1901, while serving in the Reserve Squadron, she was slated to receive a "1 to 52" W/T set.[9]
