William Hamilton Bremner
Commander (retired) William Hamilton Bremner, D.S.O., D.S.C., R.N. (14 September, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain Donald Bremner, Assistant Commissioner, City of London Police.[1]
Bremner was appointed to [illeg] for special service on 24 December, 1915. This was evidently to include training in Coastal Motor Boats. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1916.[2]
Bremner was appointed in command of Template:UK-CMB8 from 20 September, 1916 until his appointment was made more general ("for service with CMBs)" on 2 August, 1917.
Bremner was appointed in command of Template:UK-CMB79a from 17 July, 1919 to 20 July 1920, Bremner's Service Record indicates that he might have been thought killed in action in the Baltic Sea on 18 August, 1919.[3]
Bremner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1924.[4]
Bremner was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit at the rank of Commander on 6 December, 1937.[5]
World War II
Reverted to the Retired List on 1 May, 1947.[6]
