S.M.S. Ulan was one of 13 destroyers of the Huszar class.

Service

On 24 July 1914 the ship was stationed in Cattaro. On 7 August she sailed to assist the German battlecruiser Goeben.

On 16 August, along with the cruiser Zenta, she attacked French forces. The battle lasted from 8:45 to 9:20; Zenta was sunk, but Ulan escaped without damage. 17 September assisted Monarch with bombarding a Montenegrin radio station. 18 October attacked Antivari.

1-2 March 1915 attacked Antivari. 19 June, along with Admiral Spaun and Novara bombarded a signal station on the Italian coast. In 1916, Ulan was transfered to II Torpedoflottille and stationed in Pola, and on 28 August moved to Sebenico to protect convoys.

25 March 1917 returned to Pola and laid up for repair and refit from 3 May to 20 May. During this refit, Ulan received a 7cm BAG and a smoke generator. Upon completion, transferred to Gjenovic, arriving 24 May to protect convoys between Gravosa, Spilica and Durazzo. 16-17 December fought with IV Torpedodivision off Brindisi.

She was laid up from 22 to 31 December and then transferred to Pola on 17 January 1918. On 2 February sailed with III Schlachtschiffdivision to Bocche di Cattaro, returning to Pola 4 February. Laid up for boiler replacement and repairs in Pola from 4 May until the middle of October. Awarded to Greece in 1920, scrapped 1931. ^[6]
