Commander (retired) John Sydney Plumptre Colquhoun, (28 January, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Colquhoun was born in Victoria, Australia.[1]
Colquhoun was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1910.[2]
Colquhoun was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1918.[3]
Colquhoun was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 28 January, 1932.[4]
World War II
Mobilised on 26 September, 1938.
Colquhoun commanded the monitor Erebus from late 1943 through mid 1945, and was mentioned in despatches for his work in bombarding Le Havre.
He was reverted to the Retired List on 23 June, 1946.[5]
