Temporary Lieutenant R.N.R. James Hassard Short ( – 3 April, 1918) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Short was appointed to the destroyer Bittern on 9 January, 1916.[1]
Short was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 18 September, 1917.[2]
Short drowned when the Bittern was lost in a collision in the English Channel in April, 1918. He may have been in command at the time, but it is not clear when he superseded Ernest Kirkbank Irving.
