Ernest Kirkbank Irving

Captain R.N.R. (retired) Ernest Kirkbank Irving, D.S.C., (8 September, 1881 – 7 April, 1945) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Irving was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 28 May, 1913.

In January 1917, Irving was cautioned after a collision between Bittern and T.B. 104. Later that year, he received the Admiralty's appreciation for salvaging S.S. Lepanto.

Post-War

Irving was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 28 May, 1921.

Irving was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 31 December, 1925.

Irving was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Captain R.N.R. on 8 September, 1931.
