Herbert Keer Case
Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. (retired) Herbert Keer Case, D.S.C. (9 July, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
At the start of the war, Case was appointed to the battleship Albion. He left the ship when he was appointed to the second class protected cruiser Challenger in April 1916, having been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 July, 1915.[1]
On 30 May 1916 he was appointed to the armed merchant cruiser Laconia, where he remained until late July, when he was sent to command T.B. 025.[2]
Case was appointed in command of the destroyer Angler on 30 March, 1918.[3]
Case was sent to Devonport on 12 June before being demobilised on 25 July, 1919.[4]
Case was placed on the Retired List on 25 July, 1922 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 July, 1923.[5]
World War II
He was mobilised on 2 September 1939 and put to work as Assistant Executive Officer at Great Yarmouth.[6]
