Captain Herbert Francis Hope Layman, D.S.O.* (23 March, 1899 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Layman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1921.

Layman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1929.

Layman was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1936.

World War II

Layman served on a British Joint Communication Board in 1943-44. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1943.
