Captain (retired) Edward Lewis Lang, R.N. (21 November, 1853 – 17 December, 1923) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Lang was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 16 April, 1878.
Lang was appointed in command of the composite paddle vessel Alecto on 25 January, 1893. He was superseded on 16 February, 1894.
Lang was promoted to the rank of Commander on 26 May, 1894 for services during the ercent operations against Fodey Silath on the Gambia River.
Lang was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 6 July, 1903.
Lang offered his services in May, 1915 but was informed that it was "not possible to utilise them."
