Charles James White

Lieutenant R.N.R. Charles James White, R.D. ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

White was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant R.N.R. on 13 April, 1904.[1]

White was appointed to the submarine Sunfish on 21 February, 1915.[2]

White was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915.[3]

White was cautioned following an adverse report some time in 1917.[4]

White was appointed in command of the destroyer Quail on 1 or 3 September, 1917. He served in her until 31 January, 1919, maintaining her in a "constant [state?] of readiness in spite of ship's age" according to Captain (D), Seventh Destroyer Flotilla Robert Arthur Hornell.[5][6]

He was demobilised on 15 July and placed on the Retired List on 30 October, 1919. He was removed from the list on 17 October, 1922.[7]
