Admiral (retired) Austin Melvin Knight (16 December, 1854 – 26 February, 1927) served in the United States Navy.
Life & Career
Knight was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 19 December, 1885.
Knight was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander on 3 March, 1899.
Knight was promoted to the rank of Commander on 16 June, 1902.
Knight was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1907.
Knight was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral on 29 January, 1911.
Knight was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral on 22 May, 1917.
Knight was posthumously promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List with an effective date of 26 February, 1927.
