Archibald Thomas Carter

Captain Archibald Thomas Carter, R.N. (5 October, 1854 – 30 November, 1899) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Carter was the son of a Reverend Canon W. E. Dickson Carter.

Carter pass out of the Royal Naval College in March 1877 and on the 7th was appointed to Duke of Wellington. That same year would find him in Squirrel and Alexandra.[1]

Carter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 December, 1879.[2]

Carter was promoted to the rank of Commander on 14 August, 1890, with a seniority date of 30 June, 1890.[3]

Carter was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1896 and was married to Ethel Rawson on 24 September, 1896.[4]

Carter was surveyed at M.D.G. on 18 September, 1899 and found unfit. He was placed on three months of full paid service leave, to be re-surveyed on 18 December, but he died at the end of November.
