Captain William Hope Gell, D.S.O. (24 September, 1888 – 17 March, 1955) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend W. Gell.

Gell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1908.

Gell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1916.

Gell was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1921.

Gell was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1929.

He was placed on the Retired List on 1 April, 1938 and was mentioned in The Times later that month.[1]
