Captain Ronald George Bowes-Lyon, M.V.O. (22 June, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

His last name either had no hyphen or the man specified it was to be removed on 3 March, 1915 (or 1925).

Life & Career

The son of the Honourable Francis Bowes-Lyon passed out of Royal Naval College, Dartmouth in April, 1910 ranked 54th of 77 cadets in marks on the Part I examination.[1]

Bowes-Lyon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1916.[2]

Bowes-Lyon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1924.[3]

Bowes-Lyon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1929.[4]

Bowes Lyon was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1936.[5]

World War II

Bowes Lyon was appointed Chief Staff Officer to Flag Officer in Command, West Africa, vice Money, from 24 February 1944 until he was placed on the Retired List on 5 July 1945. He reverted to it on 16 July 1947.[6]
