Philip Esmonde Phillips, D.S.O., ( – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Phillips was appointed in command of the submarine A 7 on 10 May, 1912.[1]

He was appointed in command of the submarine B 6 on 20 February, 1914.[2]

Phillips was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1917.[3]

On 1 November, 1917, Phillips was in command of the submarine E 52 when she sank the UC 63 north of the Dover Net Barrage in a surfaced night attack.[4]

Phillips was in command of the submarine L 12 on 16 October, 1918 when she sank UB 90.[5] On 12 November, he was appointed to Lucia for submarines, but apparently not for command.[6]
