John Edward Bearcroft

Admiral John Edward Bearcroft, C.B., M.V.O., Royal Navy, Retired (18 August, 1851 – 5 September, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Bearcroft was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1895, aged forty-three years, ten months, and twelve days.[1]

Bearcroft was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 20 February, 1906, vice Poë.[2] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 30 May, 1906.[3] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 22 July, 1910,[4] and to Admiral on on 4 June, 1913.[5]
