James Richard Maitland Makgill Crichton

Commander (retired) James Richard Maitland Makgill Crichton (5 June, 1885 – 1 December, 1943) was an officer in the Royal Navy. His older brother James Richard Maitland Makgill Crichton also served, reaching the rank of Commander (retired).

Life & Career

The son of A. M. M. Crichton, who worked with the Civil Service in London as an exchequer.

Crichton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1908.[1]

Crichton was appointed in command of the destroyer Martial on 24 June, 1918.[2]

He was appointed in command of the destroyer Torrid on 28 January, 1920.[3]
