Admiral SIR Henry Bernard Rawlings G.B.E., K.C.B. (21 May, 1889 – 30 September, 1962) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1910.

At the outbreak of war, Rawlings was serving as first lieutenant in the destroyer Druid of the First Destroyer Flotilla.

On 21 October, 1914 Rawlings was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 11.[1]

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1918.

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1923.

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1930.

World War II

Rawlings was appointed in command of the battleship Valiant in August, 1939.

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 January, 1941.

Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 7 November, 1943.

Rawlings was placed on the Retired List on 23 August, 1945 and promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 September, 1946.[Fact Check]
