H.M.S. Keppel was one of five flotilla leaders of the Shakespeare class.

Service

Commander Frederick Hew George Dalrymple-Hamilton was appointed to her on 10 February, 1925 and remained with her as she neared completion at Portsmouth, but it is not clear whether he commissioned her.[5]

Re-commissioned at Devonport on 16 October, 1928 under the command of Captain (D) Cyril Gordon Sedgwick to support the Third Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[6]
