Service
Brisbane departed Australia for service in the Mediterranean in December, 1916.
Following a year and a half of refit work at Sydney, the ship was commissioned on 28 June, 1928.[6]
She paid off into "E" class reserve at Sydney on 1 December, 1930.[7]
Alterations
Brisbane was apparently not fitted with a director until well after her sisters, perhaps owing to Australian point of origin.[8] A photo taken of her in 1935 shows that she did acquire a light aloft tower, high on her foremast at some point.[9]
