Commander Frederick William Hayden, D.S.C., C.B.E. (11 September, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Beverley, York, Hayden worked as a gardener before joining the Navy.

He emerged from H.M.S. Ganges in 1913 and spent most of the Great War in Portsmouth with some time in Edgar and Iron Duke early in the war.[1]

World War II

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1939.[2]

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1947.[3]

Hayden was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1951.[4]
