Admiral Alexander Victor Campbell, C.B., D.S.O., M.V.O., Royal Navy (27 September, 1874 – 2 June, 1957) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Campbell was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 October, 1894.[1]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Prince George on 15 August, 1914.[4]

He served as captain of the battleship Albion from February to May, 1916, when he moved to command the battleship Britannia for two months.

He was appointed in command of the battleship King George V on 5 April, 1918 as Flag Captain and Chief of Staff to Vice-Admiral de Robeck.[6]

Flag Rank

Campbell was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 14 October, 1923, vice Borrett.[7]

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 11 June, 1928, vice Brand, and was placed on the Retired List on 12 June.[8]

He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 November, 1932.[9]
