Admiral Alexander Victor Campbell, C.B., D.S.O., M.V.O., Royal Navy (27 September, 1874 – 2 June, 1957) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Campbell was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1913.[1]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Prince George on 15 August, 1914.[2]

He served as captain of the battleship Albion from February to May, 1916,[3] when he moved to command the battleship Britannia for two months.[4]

He was appointed in command of the battleship King George V on 5 April, 1918 as Flag Captain and Chief of Staff to Vice-Admiral de Robeck.[5]

Campbell was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 14 October, 1923, vice Borrett.[6]

He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 11 June, 1928, vice Brand, and was placed on the Retired List on 12 June.[7]
