Eric Rees

Commander R.N.R. Eric Rees, D.S.C, R.D., R.N.R. (5 February, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

On 21 May 1915, Rees was cautioned to exercise more care in future following damage to the dock wall at Yarmouth by the paddle minesweeper Glen Avon.

Rees was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915.

Rees was appointed in command of Marchioness of Bate[?] and placed in charge of a unit of Light Sweep Paddle Minesweepers at Portsmouth on 17 June, 1918.

In 1918 Rees received an adverse report following a collision between Dartmoor and Tedworth.

Rees was demobilised on 1 April 1919.

Rees was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.

Rees was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1928.
