Jump to navigationJump to searchTemporary Lieutenant R.N.R. William Peak Savage, R.N.R. ( – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve. He appeared to be the object of blame in a number of small misfortunes.
Life & Career
Savage was sent to join the collier Glenmore on 16 August 1915, proceeding to North Shields. The ship was stranded on 30 November 1915 and a Court of Enquiry held Savage to blame for not having the necessary charts.[1]
In February 1916 he was appointed to Marcella. She was lost on 25 March 1916, and he was appointed to Seagull on 15 April.[2]
Savage was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 4 August, 1917.[3]
Seagull was lost on 30 September 1918. A Coiurt of Enquiry would find him to blame in the affair.
