U.S.S. Chester was one of three Chester class light cruisers completed for the U.S. Navy.

Construction

Chester was launched at Bath Iron Works on 26 June, 1907, sponsored by Miss D. W. Sproul.

Service

Chester was commissioned on 25 April, 1908 with Commander Henry B. Wilson in command.
