Rear-Admiral Frederic Proby Doughty, (28 July, 1834 – ) served in the Royal Navy. His first name is spelled "Frederick" at The National Archives, which may be the correct spelling.

Doughty was promoted to the rank of Captain on 14 May, 1875.
