Service

Emerald was commissioned at Devonport on 4 September, 1928 for service with the Fourth Cruiser Squadron on the East Indies Station.[6]

She was commissioned at Devonport 24 March, 1931 for service with the Fourth Cruiser Squadron on the East Indies Station under the command of Captain John Wittewronge Clayton.[7]

There is clearly a disagreement between Agar and Fegen. Flynn's service record says he served vice Agar.
