Edward Harpur Gamble

Admiral Edward Harpur Gamble, C.B., Royal Navy (6 September, 1849 – 17 November, 1925) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Gamble was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1884.[1]

Gamble was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1891.[2]

Flag Rank

Gamble succeeded Rear-Admiral Robinson in command of the Devonport Reserve Division on 3 January, 1906.[3] He was relieved on 3 January, 1907 by Rear-Admiral Harry S. F. Niblett.[4] He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 11 April, 1908, vice Drury.[5]

He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 18 September, 1911, vice Robinson, and was placed on the Retired List on 19 September.[6]
