Admiral SIR Arthur Mostyn Field, K.C.B., F.R.S., Royal Navy, Retired (27 June, 1855 – 3 July, 1950) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Field was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1895, aged forty years and three days.[1]

Flag Rank

Field was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 22 July, 1910, vice Durnford.[2] He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 August.[3] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 4 June, 1913.

His son, Midshipman T. M. Field, was killed in the loss of H.M.S. Queen Mary at the Battle of Jutland on 31 May, 1916.
