U.S.S. Birmingham was one of three Chester class light cruisers completed for the U.S. Navy.
Construction
Birmingham was launched on 29 May, 1907, sponsored by Mrs L. Underwood.
Service
Birmingham was commissioned on 11 April, 1908 with Commander Burns T. Walling in command.
