Completed in 1909, H.M.S. Boadicea was one of two cruisers in her class. She served as flagship of the Third Destroyer Flotilla during the period from 1910-1912 (at least), under the flag of Robert Arbuthnot.
The ship was one of seven which tested Willis and Robinson Electric Revolution Telegraphs; all the other ships were much larger than she. Testing was completed in late 1913.[9]
