Admiral Arthur Barrow, Royal Navy, Retired (25 March, 1853 – 22 November, 1914) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Barrow was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1889.[1]

He was appointed Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence on 5 November, 1897.[2]

Barrow was appointed commanding officer of H.M.S. Excellent on 20 January, 1901.[3]

Flag Rank

Barrow was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 August, 1903, vice Rose.[4] In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List, at his own request, on 26 May, 1906.[5] He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 16 February, 1907,[6] and was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 12 April, 1911.[7]

Barrow died at Coleridge House, Clevedon, Somerset on 22 November, 1914, aged sixty-one.[8]
