H.M.S. Norfolk was one of two Norfolk Class cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Commissioned at Devonport on 14 May, 1930 for service with the Second Cruiser Squadron in the Atlantic Fleet.[6]

Re-commissioned at Devonport on 6 September, 1932 for service on the America and West Indies Station, bearing Commander-in-Chief Vice-Admiral Drax.[7]

She returned to Devonport on 30 November, 1934 after her stint as flagship, and paid off and re-commissioned on 22 January under Flag Captain Louis Henry Keppel Hamilton, expected to leave in March to relieve Hawkins as flagship on the East Indies Station.[8]

However, in October, it appears that she was again on the America and West Indies Station, bearing Commander-in-Chief Vice-Admiral Rose.[9]
