Commander John Robert Newton Taylor, (6 June, 1898 – 3 February, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

His father was C. N. (these initials could be wrong) Taylor, who worked at the Stock Exchange.

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1919.[1]

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1927.[2]

Taylor was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1933.[3]

World War II

Taylor died on 3 February, 1940, perhaps in action, and perhaps while in command of Sphinx when she was lost to an air attack.[4]
