Rear-Admiral Henry Richard Sawbridge, O.B.E. (11 March, 1885 – 15 January, 1956) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of a reverend, Sawbridge was born in Coney Weston, Suffolk and passed out of Britannia with two months' time added.
Sawbridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 December, 1905.
Sawbridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 December, 1913.
Sawbridge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.
Sawbridge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1924.
Sawbridge was appointed in command of the light cruiser Comus in April, 1928.
Sawbridge was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 2 January, 1936.
