H.M.S. Aphis was one of twelve gunboats of the "Insect" class.
Service
Aphis was re-commissioned 1 July, 1920, tender to Egmont.[6]
On 13 July 1920, she joined Tilbury for a transit westward from the Dardanelles, stopping at Corinth on the 14th to be oiled and suffering an engine breakdown of a few hours duration on the 15th. It is possible but not certain that she continued with Tilbury to arrive at Malta on the 15th.[7]
She paid off to a C. & M. party on 4 May, 1921.[8]
She was re-commissioned on 29 January, 1927 at Malta and made her way back to the China Station, remaining there until at least mid-1937.[9][10]
