H.M.S. Valorous was one of five flotilla leaders of the "V" class.
Service
Valorous joined the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla, which was screening the Grand Fleet, upon commissioning in August, 1917. She served there as the flotilla leader, second in command until joining the First Destroyer Flotilla in February, 1919, where she acted as one of two flagships.
She recommissioned at Port Edgar on 10 September, 1920.[5]
Valorous was re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 2 January, 1924. By March 1925, she was serving with the Ninth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic.[6]
Re-commissioned with Reserve Crew on 23 November, 1925.[7]
She was paid off into Dockyard Control at Sheerness on 4 March, 1927.[8]
Paid off 1 July, 1928 and went into the Reserve Fleet at the Nore.[9]
Commissioned at Chatham on 27 April, 1932 for service with the Second Destroyer Flotilla.[10]
She was re-commissioned at Chatham on 31 August, 1934 for service with the Second Destroyer Flotilla.[11]
