Captain (retired) Bertie Cecil Porter, O.B.E., R.N. (16 July, 1890 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Southport, the son of surveyor W. Porter, Esq..[1]
Porter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1912.[2]
Porter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1920.[3]
On 16 December, 1926 he was appointed the Superintendent of Compasses.[4]
Porter was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 16 July, 1933.[5]
World War II
He was granted the War Service Rank of Captain on 8 October, 1951.[6]
