Lieutenant Patrick Spencer John Ponsonby, R.N., R.M. (10 September, 1894 – 10 July, 1922) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Hertford, Ponsonby joined the Navy by transferring in from the Royal Marines, where he'd held the rank of Lieutenant aboard H.M.S. Queen, on 11 June, 1915.

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 11 November, 1916. On 1 January, 1917 he was appointed to Dolphin for submarines.

Ponsonby was appointed in command of the submarine H 27 on 30 October, 1920.[1]

Ponsonby died at Hong Kong from pneumonia.
