Commander R.N.R. (retired) Alexander Garden Halliday, R.D., R.N.R. (18 August, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
Life & Career
Halliday was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915.[1]
Halliday was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 113 on 19 March, 1918.[2] In that year, he was subject to a navigating report and also warned to be more cautious following a collision between T.B. 113 and hopper H.15.[3]
He commanded her until he was demobilised upon his arrival in Australia on 28 February, 1919.[4]
Halliday was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.[5]
Halliday was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 18 August, 1928.[6]
World War II
In 1941, he mobilised with the Royal Australian Naval Reserve.
