H.M.S. Vampire was one of five flotilla leaders of the "V" class.
Service
Vampire was commissioned on 11 September, 1917.[7]
She re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 6 June, 1924 for service with the Fifth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[8]
Commissioned on 20 April, 1927 for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]
Re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 11 June, 1929.[10]
The ship was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy on 11 October 1933, becoming H.M.A.S. Vampire.
She paid off into Reserve at Sydney on 10 October, 1934.[11]
Vampire was commissioned in "C" Class Reserve at Westernport on 14 July, 1936.[12]
