Construction
Service
After acceptance trials N° 5 was used for comparative testing of boilers and trials of a "collision pad" in 1878, before becoming a training vessel for boiler room personnel in 1880. Stricken on 10 May, 1887 and discarded at some later date. Unlike other early French torpedo boats, N° 5 was never renamed.[9]
