N° 4 was a torpedo boat completed for the French Navy in 1875.
Construction
Acceptance trials were run at Cherbourg from December 1875 through March 1876.[14]
Service
Trials showed that N° 4 was "unsuitable" for use as a torpedo boat even for local duties at a naval base. She was put up for sale in December 1879 but no buyers were found. Deleted on 31 May, 1882, eleven months later on 24 April, 1883 she was again rated as "unseaworthy" and unfit for any duty. Nevertheless, she was taken in hand in the same year for conversion to an aviso de flottille. Renamed Djoué, she was transferred to the French Congo and used as a yard craft until being discarded permanently in 1895.[15][16]
