Vice Admiral Arthur LeRoy Bristol (15 July, 1886 – 27 April, 1942) served in the United States Navy.

Life & Career

In 1931, Bristol superseded Capt. William Winton Galbraith as U.S. Naval Attaché, London.[1]

From June 1934 to June 1936, Bristol was the first captain of America's first purpose-built aircraft carrier, Ranger.

Bristol was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral on 27 February, 1942. He died of a heart attack just two months later while ashore in Newfoundland.
